With their passion for bees, the Andreini brothers, Carlo and Cesare founded Apicoltura Andreini in the 70s.
At the end of the 70s, after completing his secondary school education, Mario Andreini (Cesare’s son) began to cultivate his interest in bees when he began to work as a bee-keeper. He later earned his apiarian degree at the University of Bologna. Under the guidance of his uncle Carlo, Mario began to work in the company, increased the number of its hives from 80 to 500, implemented technological innovations to keep pace with nomadic bees and installed cutting edge machinery to gather the honey. At the start of the 80s, Apicoltura Andreini collaborated actively on apiary research with the University of Pisa by making structures and hives available to researchers and, in turn, receiving innovative scientific and technological information.
